Hello fellow touchers,
It has been a tough few months without our beloved sport and it will not surprise you that the summer touch league will not run this season.
These are tough times for us all but here are some things to keep our spirits up…

The CTA have listened to feedback from members of the club and for the coming season (summer 2020), we would like to try to expand our women’s development team – the Nightwings – to give more opportunity for female participants in the CTA leagues to experience women’s touch. How we develop the team next year will largely depend on the response we receive. If you are female and would like to try playing women’s touch on a Wednesday evening in the league, please email kat@cambridgetouch.com to express your interest! This is an open invite, anyone is welcome regardless of playing ability, and if we get enough interest, we may even be able to run a women’s league!
Last Saturday saw our annual end of season awards with over fifty attendees.
After a large feed, thanks to The Burleigh Arms, our hosts, Sue-Ellen and Rob, present awards to our outstanding players of the season.
This weeks saw our final games in the league
Ospreys v Dukes for the Bowl
Nightwings v TapNGo for the Plate
Superheros v Lions for the Cup
Just as Kat Jones picks up the European Touch Award for Senior Female Player she rewinds back just 4 months ago recounting her World Cup
The Touch World Cup, which takes place every 4 years, is the pinnacle of the game for the English teams, and a fortunate number of players from Cambridge were this year selected to participate. The Touch World Cup 2019 was held at Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya, Malaysia from April 29th to May 4th and 2500 players from 25 countries perform across 11 divisions and 6 days of matches. This 9th world cup was the largest to date and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Last night saw the finals of Cambridge Touch Spring League.
10 weeks of games, culminating in last weeks semi final and this weeks final.
Superheros v Lions for the cup and Nightwings v Black Fox Academy for the plate
